The global Skype-a-Thon event is almost here, so we’re having no fewer than 16 Skype Master Teachers come together on November 21 to help everyone participate. Skype-a-Thon shows what can happen when students bring their ideas and passions together, no matter where their classrooms are. Through sharing stories and projects, playing games, and collaborating on similar subjects, we hope to lay the path for the next generation of upstanding global citizens.
Our Skype Master Teachers will be hosting the #MSFTEduChat TweetMeet, sharing their advice on how to connect your classroom with guest speakers, students and other classrooms from all over the world – and even with product experts from Microsoft. Our goal is to empower global classroom collaboration with Skype in the Classroom to open hearts and open minds for all students. (Ok, but what’s a TweetMeet?)
Our #MSFTEduChat TweetMeet is on Tuesday, November 21st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PST. Check event times for your location.
Whether you’re a Skype in the Classroom expert or just learning about the potential of connecting your class using the Microsoft Educator Community, our community of Skype Master Teachers, global educators and MIE Experts are here to share their tips, resources and experiences with you, live on Twitter.

    Why join the #MSFTEduChat TweetMeets?
We’ll let our eager hosts explain with the MSFTEduChat Flipgrid videos they’ve created especially for this month’s event. We highly welcome your video response to this grid, so go ahead and submit yours:
When and how can I join?
Join us Tuesday, November 21st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. PST on Twitter using the hashtags **#MSFTEduChat**, **#skypeathon** and #**MicrosoftEDU** (which you can always use to stay in touch with us). To find the event time for your specific location, use this time zone announcer.
    How can I best prepare?
To prepare for the #MSFTEduChat TweetMeet, have a look at the questions we have prepared this time. You may also find inspiration in the many stories on our blog from fellow educators on how they use Skype in the Classroom for virtual field trips, playfully engage in Mystery Skype, and collaborate globally to raise awareness about Sustainable Development Goals.
We also highly recommend that you set up a Twitter dashboard – through TweetDeck, for example – to easily monitor incoming tweets containing the #MSFTEduChat hashtag and other relevant search queries. Watch this TweetDeck Basics tutorial for advice on setting up.

    What are #MSFTEduChat TweetMeets?
Every month Microsoft Education organizes social events on Twitter targeted at educators globally. The hashtag we use is #MSFTEduChat. A team of topic specialists and international MIE Expert teachers prepare and host these TweetMeets together. Our team of educator hosts first crafts several questions around a certain topic. Then, before the event, they share these questions on social media. Combined with a range of resources, a blog post and background information about the events, this allows all participants to prepare themselves to the full. Afterwards we make an archive available of the most notable tweets and resources shared during the event.
Learn more about TweetMeets and earn a badge in the //TweetMeet Course on the Microsoft Education Community//.
The #MSFTduChat event time is 10:00am PT. If this time isn’t convenient for you, please follow your local channel or even consider hosting your own #MSFTEduChat in your country and language. Please connect with TweetMeet organizer Marjolein Hoekstra @OneNoteC on Twitter for more info on hosting in your language and time that works best for the educators and MIE Experts in your country.
